The two piece hot water tank is easy to service because individual components can be replaced instead of having to replace the entire tank. The heavy compressor is attached to a brittle plastic base which tends to break during shipping. The first unit I ordered was unusable, and the second was repairable: I was able to replace a missing vibration mount with hardware store parts, and 2 broken plastic parts floating around the carton seemed inessential. Construction is generally shoddy. It is shipped in boxes that provide almost no protection, but if you get a damaged unit (and can find your way to Amazon's Customer Service email) Amazon will repackage a replacement for shipment. The compressor runs a lot of the time and is noisy enough that I will probably move it out of my office.
